1977 Kenner Vinyl Cape Jawa First Shot Prototype:

Fantastic pre-production figure lacking all leg coo (county or origin) and copyright stamps. Hand cut cape is of a darker color than production; is lighter in texture and features a distinctly different dimpled pattern. Similar First shots Jawas can be seen in early Kenner promotional material such as catalogs and point of purchase displays. Both the figure and cape have separate LOA’s from long time reputable collectors. From a population standpoint, probably less than 10 examples exist with the preproduction cape, with two said to have backwards legs. Not quite the Rocket Fett, but certainly a classic preproduction piece that seldom is offered for sale. A separate COA from CIB was executed by Tom Derby at the time of grading and encapsulation by AFA. Collectively, both the figure and cape have been assigned a grade of EX+/NM 75 serial #: 11743696
